The area
Valencia was laid out with larger plots than most of the societies around it, and that single planning decision shapes almost every celebration held here. A kanal-plus lawn takes a full marquee, a built stage and a working catering line without the compromises that a tighter plot forces.
It means families in Valencia often host at home where elsewhere they would have booked a hall — and hosting at home is a different brief. The house has to stay liveable while a production runs through it, and the event has to end without the family waking up inside a building site.
The society's own club and community facilities take the mid-size receptions, and the marquee belt along the main approach handles the larger guest counts when a home lawn is not the answer.
Our experience here
Width buys you sightlines. On a generous Valencia lawn we can set the stage far enough back that guests see it across an open foreground instead of over each other's heads, run a service aisle that never crosses the guest route, and place the kitchen line far enough from the seating that the noise and heat of it never reach a table.
It also means we can build rather than rent. There is space to dry-assemble a set on site, which is the difference between a stage that looks made for the room and one that was clearly delivered on a truck.
The constraint here is rarely space. It is power, and the fact that a domestic supply was never designed to carry a lighting rig and a catering line at the same time.
